Small Backdrop = Big Impact

A few nights ago was my first time since a college assignment that I got to mess around with a backdrop idea I've been wanting to try; fairy lights! I've always been obsessed with them and the soft/romantic mood they give off in a room.

My mom and I came across a few bundles on sale (like 40% off or something!) at Joann's I knew I had to get on it. Since I wasn't sure how the outcome would be, I just used plain ol' scotch tape as a super temporary option to secure the lights and zig-zagged those babies to a wall in my bedroom! I plan on snagging either a sheer or shimmering fabric to hang on top of the strands to really spread the lighting and soften the bulbs a bit! Since I know that the outcome is fire, I'll definitely be upgrading from tape to thumb tacks!

As you can see, I was working in some pretty tight constraints so more strings are definitely on my list to really up this project. Outside of that, I'm crazy impressed with the depth the lights provided in the final images!

After a photoshoot I like to stream my editing process through Twitch (which you can follow me here!) to show my followers not only what I'm working on but how I like to go about doing it! When I showed my viewers the images on my phone of the space I was working with, they were blown away thinking that I had a whole studio to work with! I think I just learned some movie magic. <3
